Our Story

We are the proud founders of the first AREPA food truck in Melbourne. Arepas were at our table every day for breakfast. It is one of the most versatile dishes in our cuisine because once you bake or grill the arepa, you can then open your imagination and fill the arepa with whatever crosses your mind: cheese, ham, black beans, avocado, chorizo, pulled beef, pulled chicken. After many years of living here in Melbourne, we wanted YOU to experience the real #arepas!

Arepaland is a family business where everyone is involved and engaged throughout.

Arepand acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land, the Bunurong Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nation and pays respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Our Vision

Arepaland brings to residents and visitors of the city of Melbourne the wonders of one of the most traditional dishes from the Venezuelan cuisine: The Arepa.

Our Purpose

We promise to deliver on the joy that our customers wish to experience when eating one of our products. We promise to care about the environment and only use fully recyclable packaging.

We promise to help other Venezuelans promote their passion for food on our Arepaland platform.

Our Mission

Arepaland is going to promote very special dishes from the Venezuelan cuisine so that they become part of the gastronomic identity available in Melbourne.

Meet the team

Alex Andrenacci

Founder, CEO, Owner

Alex is from Barinas, a small city in the southwest of Venezuela. It is known for its plains (Los llanos). Alex spent an important part of his childhood helping his dad at the farm, so at a young age, he developed a strong interest in authentic cuisine. One of these dreams is to own a Venezuelan restaurant and the food truck was the best place to start!

Jin Celest

Co-founder, Culinary Creator

Jin is from Valle de la Pascua. Valle de la Pascua is an important regional center for a large cattle-raising area. Its main commodities are livestock products; the dairy industry is also prominent. Jin and Fernando migrated to Singapore in 2007, and Jin devoted her time to the Spanish Speaking Women’s Association of Singapore. Jin was well known for her dinner parties as her ability to transmit ‘everything Venezuelan’ through her food was incredible. Alex kept telling Jin that one day they were going to have a Venezuelan restaurant in Melbourne!

Fernando Rey

Co-founder, Business Development

Fernando is from Maracay, one of the largest cities in Venezuela. Fernando has worked in many fields: accounting, logistics, and business operations. Fernando enjoys the idea of being an entrepreneur and he has launched few businesses across the Asia Pacific. Fernando came to Melbourne in 2018 and he fell in love with the multi-cultural aspects of this city. He was eager to connect the passion from Alex, Jin, and Jazzy and bring Arepaland here!

Jazzy Bautista

The Creative

Jazzy has been working in the field of Learning and Development for many years. Jazzy chose to come to Melbourne and complete her Masters Degree at Monash in Interactive Design. During her studies there were various chances for Jazzy to get involved in the creative side of Arepaland. Jazzy has been involved in the entire creative portfolio of Arepaland, and her ability to make customers ‘connect’ with the product is amazing.
